What’s new, pussycat?
I’m still busy, busy, busy: writing – and exploring areas of Scrivener I’ve not had occasion to use to date – like formatting within the Compile option. Great fun!
As soon as the first draft of my book is done (next Sunday?), I’ll start putting together a series of posts so you don’t have to go through the same learning curve as me.
What’s new?
I’ll be sharing some of my discoveries at the Simply Scrivener Special webinar at 12 noon (GMT) on Monday 18 July. These live AMAs (ask me anything) are free. If you want to attend, register here and then complete this short questionnaire so that I can prepare relevant slides and have all my tabs open ready to show you.
Editing the RedPen Way
Yes, that’s the (current) title of my book and it’ll be available (hopefully) in September.
The book explains the RedPen editing cycle and provides a starter toolkit of RedPen tasks. Plus there are tips on how to use IT to help when you are editing, and I answer a lot of FAQs too.
Everything you need to know to get started on editing that SFD …
If you’d like to join my team of beta readers, apply to join the RedPen – Beta Readers Facebook group. Your challenge will be to find mistakes and/or make suggestions for improvements to the text. In return, you’ll receive a free pre-release copy of the e-book, plus a free copy when it’s launched, and other goodies that I have up my sleeve …
Something good to read?
Meanwhile, in case you need something good to read, Joanna Penn’s book The Successful Author Mindset: A Handbook for Surviving the Writer’s Journey is available both in Kindle format and as a paperback.
Joanna uses Scrivener and recommends Joseph Michael’s Learn Scrivener Fast course. I do too!
I’ve also downloaded Joanna’s Successful Self-Publishing.
Joanna covers all angles of self-publishing, and it’s free to download on Kindle.
So, back to my writing. My deadline is this coming Sunday. Wish me luck!
