On your marks! (Register) | ScrivenerVirgin

Hoorah! The powers that be have opened the doors at NaNoWriMo 2015!

The first step – if you are new to NANO, is to Register: choose a pen name and write your author bio. Here’s what mine says.

Author informationThen complete as much detail as you can for your 2015 novel.

Novel informationWhile there’s a large international community of Wrimos via the NaNoWriMo website, you can also meet up and write with other Wrimos in your local region.

Most regions have a determined and helpful volunteer (called a Municipal Liaison – ML for short) whose job is to organize local write-ins. These gatherings happen before 1 November (the Kick-Off meeting), about 15 November (the MidWay meeting) and early in December (TGIO – thank goodness it’s over!).

I was ML for Devon and Cornwall a while back. It was a combined region then but is now back to being two separate regions; I belong to both.

As ML, I traveled all over both counties, meeting with fellow Wrimos, and inspiring them to complete their 50,000 words. This year, I am not an ML, and I’m staying put here in Salcombe.

However, I will be offering online encouragement through a series of free webinars. My NANO KICK-OFF webinar will be on Monday 26 October and there are three-time slots: 10.30am, 2pm, and 8pm.

What will on the menu?

  • How NaNoWriMo Works
  • Where inspiration comes from .. and how to tap into your creative mind
  • Tips on time management and survival

If you would like an invite to these and subsequent webinars – all NANO related – click here.

AND DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER!

I’ve registered – or rather unearthed my old profile of photos-moll. I’d better update it I think.

I’ll be there. Have started work on Scrivner – fingers crossed I’m doing it right.
Have joined Nano and will be in contact soon – see you there.
